New Crazy Taxi Game Takes The Open-World Route With MMO Elements

Sega has confirmed that the new upcoming Crazy Taxi game will feature an open world and contains multiplayer elements.

In a new developer interview (translated by Automaton Media), Sega said it is currently working on testing the game’s multiplayer compatibility, including MMO elements. The goal here is to experiment with new mechanics for the game while keeping Crazy Taxi’s chaotic feel. It boasts photorealistic visuals, and its setting and motifs are inspired by what looks to be California and the west coast. The developers explain that the bright yellow taxis with vibrant blue skies help create an energetic and exciting world. The open-world structure is also inspired by theme parks.

While not much new footage was shown in the developer interview, it shows a player driving a police-style taxi while chasing down others in regular taxis, which gives a hint of what multiplayer concepts the team is working with, such as a tag or search-and-destroy kind of mode.

The new Crazy Taxi game was announced at The Game Awards 2023, along with new entries in four classic Sega franchises: Jet Set Radio, Shinobi, Streets of Rage, and Golden Axe. So far, platforms and release windows were not revealed. Come from Sports betting site VPbet

The last Crazy Taxi game was 2017’s Crazy Taxi Tycoon, a spin-off game on iOS and Android. The last mainline entry was 2002’s Crazy Taxi 3: High Roller.
